Hi, I’m Simon – I’m a professional coach and management trainer
I started my work life in the Swiss mechanical industry where I worked in mechanical engineering. Curious about other cultures, I moved to South Africa where I worked for the Rural Advice Center and built wells and water systems for and with rural communities before moving back to Switzerland.
I trained up with a degree from the University of Geneva, after which I worked for a couple of years for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) as Head of Communications and as a spokesperson in West and Central Africa. Part of the job consisted of disseminating International Humanitarian Law in war zones, to armed forces and communities.
I then joined the World Alliance of YMCAs as Executive Secretary in charge of institutional capacity building for its 120 national movements. This job allowed me to accompany numerous youth and civil society organizations and help them grow stronger and more relevant to their communities.
Back in Geneva, I joined the UN World Food Programme as a spokesperson and I’ve also worked as a public policy evaluator and adviser for the private research company Evaluanda, which assesses and advises national and international public and non-state actors.
Upon my return to the ICRC, I had the unique chance to build and lead the ICRC Management Programme, which aims at enabling ICRC managers to become performing and inspirational team and project leaders.
I have been coaching people for the last 12 years, both inside and outside of work. I started my independent Plüss Coaching practice in 2022.

Coaching sessions
I am an experienced outdoor practicioner and I take clients for one or several days into nature to combine coaching and personal development with outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling or ski touring.
Executive Coaching
My passion is to work with managers and leaders to help you achieve professional goals. This can include developing strategies for success, improving communication and decision-making skills, and addressing any personal or organizational challenges that may be holding you back.
Team Coaching
I offer team coaching services that help teams to improve communication, collaboration and productivity. Together we identify strengths and weaknesses, set goals, and develop action plans for achieving those goals.
Outdoor Coaching
In my capacity as a coach and experienced mountaineer, I take clients for one or several days into nature. Coaching conversations will take place while walking or resting in scenic spots, or around the fireplace in a cozy cottage.
Training
As a professional and learning designer specialised in people management, I offer off the shelf-courses as well as custom-made learning solutions to your organisation.
Mentoring
I offer Mentoring and Management Advice in the area of people management, interpersonal and public communications, learning and career development.
